About us:
     Ogah Hospital and Urology Centre is a specialist hospital in Fugar, Edo State, Nigeria. Fugar is located in the northern part of Edo State, 25 km from Auchi (on the way to Agenebode), 300 km from Abuja (via Okene), 160 km from Benin City and 171 km from Onitsha.
    The staff of the hospital is made of the proprietor, a consultant urologist, medical officer, visiting consultant urologists, anaesthetics and cardiologist from Auchi and nearby Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo State. There are also staff nurses and clinical assistants that give kind and dedicated patient care.

What we do:
A. Urology Care:
Most of the work in the hospital is to provide expert urological services. Major urologic surgeries include those for:
1) Treatment of prostate cancer and benign prostate enlargement.
2) Repair of urethral strictures
3) Treatment of male infertility
4) Treatment of Bladder and kidney cancers and benign conditions of same.
5) Malformed or wrongly positioned genito-urinary organs like undescended testicles. 6) Removal / repair of complex urinary abnormalities
7) Removal of complex uterine fibroids in females, that cause pain, infertility and urinary abnormalities
8) Correction of obstetric fistulas like vesico-vaginal fistula (VVF), in which urine leaks through the vagina, and rectovaginal fistulas (RVF), in which faeces leak through the vagina.
9) Removal of urinary stones
10) Treatment of cancer of the penis and correction of its deformity and inappropriate erection (priapism)
11) Treatment of intersex (hermaphrodite) 12) Treatment of uterine abnormal descent (prolapse) especially when complicated with urinary abnormalities.

B. General medical care: The hospital also provides general medical and surgical services.

C. Training of Clinical Assistants: Adults who have secondary education are trained for 3 years after which they gain the knowledge and experience to assist doctors to run hospitals or health centres. They blend very well with Staff nurses and can do a lot of hospital-based clinical work and community health services.

Know the Proprietor of the Hospital
    The hospital’s proprietor is Dr Gabriel Ogah. Dr Ogah is from Fugar, Edo State, Nigeria. He qualified as medical doctor at University of Ibadan, 1978. He specialized in surgery/urology at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, Nigeria from 1980 to 1987. He had further specialized training in surgery and urology in Scotland and Germany respectively. He has been a consultant surgeon/urologist for the past 35 years. He is a Fellow of West African College of Surgeons and International College of Surgeons. He is member of European Association of Urologists and founding member, Nigerian Association of Urological Surgeons. He was the National President of the association of all private physicians in Nigeria, 1998 to 2002. Believing that he is the healthcare his hometown and environs lack, he closed his practice in Ikeja, Lagos in 2010 and went to serve his under-served home people. He uses his forty three-year long experience in the practice of medicine to serve his people. He relishes giving the poor and under-served rural population of Edo State (and all others from elsewhere) good and affordable healthcare.
         Dr Ogah is a golfer. He has written three books which include a book on prostate titled “Prostate Diseases: what every man must know”, 2018 and a golf book, titled, “Golfers Drills”, 2009.
